It’s 2012. We got to choose our favorite images from every wedding we have photographed- then from those weddings narrow down from the thousand plus images to our very favorites. It’s tough. It’s tough to narrow down to just 30 images. Some images have been the result of a candid moment, a beautifully composed image, or maybe the image was something that was just technically hard to capture and was captured perfectly. Something artistically beautiful or unexpected – something unique or maybe something normal that has a different perspective. We hope you enjoy the images. We loved capturing them. Thank you to all our clients for a fantastic 2011. Our very best year yet. Cheers to 2012!

Adrienne and Josh were married at the Vancouver Hilton in downtown Vancouver, Washington last weekend! Perfect timing right before Christmas! It was a awesome wedding, Adrienne was beautiful and everyone was in a great mood! The sun set quickly and we got the chance to head outside after the ceremony for a session. I had a lot of favorites from this wedding – it was hard to narrow them down!

We decided to mix this post up and have a post-wedding interview from the Bride. It’s more fun this way. The Bride’s words, unedited straight from her. Enjoy!

WHERE WAS IT?

We choose the Vancouver Hilton for our wedding. When we were searching for venues the quality of customer service and willingness to meet all of our needs really stood out to us.

THEME OR STYLE:

We didn’t have a specific theme for the wedding.

BRIDE’S DRESS:

My dress came from David’s Bridal it was a sample gown that never ended up making it into full circulation so I am so glad I purchased it when I did it was love at first fitting!

BRIDE’S SHOES:

I got my shoes at JC Penny. They were a multi color glitter shoe and they went Perfect with my dress.

JEWELLERY/ACCESSORIES:

I wore a amethyst bracelet that was a gift from my dad. My engagement ring and wedding band came from the Shane Co. and I have to say my Husband did an amazing job picking them both out!

HAIR & MAKEUP:
I chose to do a 40′s finger wave style for my hair. I wanted something a little different so I chose a vintage style. AJ’s Makeup and Hair Design did an amazing job styling myself and my bridesmaids.
GROOMSMEN/ BRIDESMAIDS:
There were four Groomsman, they wore tuxedos from Men’s Wearhouse with dark purple vests. My four bridesmaids wore long Iris colored, Organza gowns from David’s Bridal. They were flattering on all of the girls.
WEDDING FAVOURS:
Our favors were DIY, we bought the small plastic champagne cups and decorated the stem  of the glasses with silk flowers. We filled them with purple and pearl colored chocolates and Cherry Cordials.
THE FLOWERS:
We used all silk flowers. We purchased them from various places. Evelyn from the Hostess House in Vancouver arranged our center pieces and bouquets. She did an amazing job. She created the most beautiful silk flower and brooch bouquet, my mother surprised me with the bouquet on the day of the wedding.
THE CAKE:
Our cake turned out amazing. We chose Lamb’s Bakery in SE Portland and we have to say they are the best around. The cake was three tiered. We chose red velvet, white marionberry, and chocolate mocha layers. They make the best buttercream in Portland.
INVITATIONS & STATIONERY:
My friend and talented graphic designer Rachel Driscoll created our beautiful invitations. She is so creative and crafted just what we were looking for. We loved it so much we ended up using a similar design for the piping on our cake.
FOOD & DRINK:
The Hilton catered our wedding and the food was to die for! The steak and turkey were particularly good.
THE HONEYMOON:
We spent our honeymoon in Ocho Rios, Jamaica. We stayed at the Sandals Grande Riviera and had the time of our lives. From ziplining to kissing dolphins we couldn’t have had a better trip. We chose Jamaica because we wanted to experience the Caribbean culture and of course the Jerk chicken!
A MEMORABLE MOMENT:
There were quite a few. A blooper occured during the bouquet toss as my new sister in law knocked down our jr. bridesmaid in her pursuit of the bouquet. After catching the bouquet mid air she proceeded to fall flat on the floor! (image below)
BRIDES CHOICE:
This is a tough one, there are so many that I love! Since I have to choose, it would be the photo of us kissing in the middle of the street. It is urban, contemporary, and beautifully shot.

We started this awesome engagement photography session in a wonderfully cozy condo in the heart of the Pearl District. The smell of freshly baked cookies and in a warm room with a great view on a freezing cold afternoon. We decided to try to brave the cold – good thing we did! We found a few great spots! Then we hit up Bridgeport for some delicious food and beer. An awesome ending to a fantastic session! :)

A Beautiful set of Autumn Wedding Photography at McMenamins Edgefield in Troutdale, Oregon. Jennifer and Brad wanted a fall wedding filled with beautiful falling leaves and we were all hoping for sunshine. Well, we didn’t get many falling leaves and the sunshine never showed up – but it didn’t keep us from heading out into the rain and getting some fantastic images anyway! Jen and Brad were great about it! They loved working with us in the rain and didn’t complain once. They were in love. They were happy and they were having fun! They wanted to be out there creating some great images. Blessings to a photographers ears. We got pretty soaked behind the camera and while they looked fantastic, we were having two really bad hair days. We stayed nice and dry under the huge tent for the ceremony and reception. The night was a ton of fun and everyone was enjoying the wedding!

Well, I can honestly say I’ve never photographed such a unique wedding. That being said, it was awesome. Maria and Barree are from Chicago (check out their engagement session on the Oregon Coast). They have never been to the Northwest before and wanted to do something that was fun and unique. I’m just glad they picked me to be their photographer!

We started out at the beautiful Nines Hotel in Portland, Oregon – got some fantastic images in a very short amount of time. Then, onto Voodoo Doughnuts for the wedding ceremony! Smelling delicous and decked out in pink and filled with randomness we awaited the arrival of the Bride and Groom. Upon their arrival, Barree surveyed the crowd waiting – and made a run for it. Only shortly though, he came back after jogging in the 95 degree heat and sun.

Nobody knew what to expect for the ‘Voodoo’ ceremony. When the officiant said he would be right back because he had to change, we thought it meant he was going to change out of his shorts and tank top. Nope. A few minutes later he comes out sweating in a purple dinosaur outfit. The ceremony was hilarious, fun and brief. A short 1st dance, some doughnuts of course and some fun group pictures and it was off for more locations to take some great wedding pictures in Portland.

Maria and Barre, I was your tour guide, your photographer and I tried to be a comedian too. Thanks so much for having me photograph you both while you enjoyed the Northwest and all that Portland had to offer. We had a blast and hope that you come back soon! Just be sure to let us know!

Maria and Barree. From Chicago. First time to Oregon. Getting married in two days.

That pretty much explains how spur of the moment and happy-go-lucky these two are. We met in Seaside on a 95 degree day in Portland and a 72 degree cloudy/foggy day in Seaside. Nonetheless, I took Maria and Barree on a tour of the small coastal town. They wanted a ‘date’ kind of a portrait session. So, we had a lot of fun going to all the little shops and walking around the area. I really enjoyed getting to be with such a fun, happy couple. After Seaside we headed to Cannon Beach – and found the sun. It was beautiful. So beautiful I want to go back and do a day of portrait sessions there (more on that later).

In just two short hours we got a ton of fun images! More images to come soon from their wedding which involved: A hotel named after a number, a lil’ Voodoo, a Pearl and a Park named after a Church.

The wedding took place at Stonecrest Bed & Breakfast which was a fantastic venue to host a wedding. They made delicious food and hosted a perfect wedding! Every detailed was planned perfectly – we were even allowed to take photos of the flower girls trashing their dresses in the ocean! It was fun, we had a great trip and loved being there! Thanks so much Devin and Elias! This is just a small portion of the images from the Oregon Beach Wedding!

Skies were clear and we had an amazing view of the mountain. It was a little windy so the decision was made to have the ceremony was inside. Steve and Krista are fantastic together. After shooting a wedding, you really get a sense that you know a couple. Listening to the toasts and being around your friends and family really gave me a great feeling about you as a married couple! It was great working with you! Congratulations Krista and Steve!

Noel and Matt were married at the John Palmer House in Portland, Oregon. In the Historic Mississippi District. The home was beautifully arranged for the wedding, with lots of room for all the guests to move around. The getting ready images of Noel took place upstairs in the beautifully restored bathroom. Lots of beautiful light coming through the large windows! The wedding and reception took place in the front yard, which had been completely set with lots of small tables and chairs around the yard to make for intimate conversation and fun! After the wedding, Noel and Matt wanted to go to Prost to celebrate with a beer. This was greeted with a lot of excitement in the small pub and lots of cheers of Congratulations!

As the sun set over the yard, it was beautiful with all the lighting on a perfect summer night. Toasts, dancing and celebrating ending the beautiful evening.

Thank you Noel and Matt! We had a lot of fun!
