Last weekend we had the chance to photograph a family session outside. It was surreal, on the way there thunderstorms suddenly were lurking in the distance and we were driving straight into them. Pouring rain. But, we got lucky and arrive to no more rain and as we setup for our first shot – the sun came out from behind the clouds. It was beautiful! A fantastic day for a family portrait session, just North of Battleground, Washington at Lucia Falls in Yacolt, Washington. We got a little wet from the trees dripping all the heavy rain and even a little muddy – but it didn’t matter. We got some beautiful images capturing the face of a happy and curious baby.

We love doing outdoor – on location photography. It gives us a chance to experience new places, new light, new inspiration and most of all it says something about who our subjects are. The best images are captured with true emotions and have a lifestyle feeling to them. Blending natural light and sometimes our strobes – we can capture images that will last a lifetime.

Looking for some unique, edgy senior portrait photography – we decided to go to an area with some bridges, brick, grafitti and water. The Portland waterfront. The senior portraits got off to a great start and Ian turned into a natural. Posing for images and having a great time. Ian, You rocked the senior portrait shoot. We really enjoyed working with you. This is Alanna, I am photographing her Sisters wedding here in Vancouver in December. She wanted some ivy, so we found some great backgrounds for senior portraits in Vancouver in a perfect sunset light. Then moved onto the Vancouver, Washington waterfront. This is Conner. Conner is just one year old. This is his first photography session.

I think he did great, he sure gave me a lot of great ‘expressions’ throughout the session.

You can’t photograph a baby and tell them to ‘say cheese’ – they won’t know what in the world your talking about.

So, we played around a bit and got some great images!
